When the children progress to Year 1 they further develop their knowledge, development and skills within the framework of the Key Stage One curriculum. Phonics and reading is one of the the linchpins that holds all of their learning together, thus one of our main priorities - good readers make good writers and by enabling children to segment and blend fluently, we open up an entire world of possibiltiies to them across the rest of the curriculum.
Miss Eldon ensures that Blue Class have weekly garden sessions, planting and growing a variety of fruits and vegetables in our school garden. Wellingtons are recommended, it gets very muddy!
