Orange Class

Orange Class is a combined class of children in Years 3 and 4. The children commence and continue the Key Stage 2 curriculum.

Our Orange Class teacher is Mrs. Herbert, supported by our teaching assistant Mrs. Senter. They create a vibrant and positive environment where our older children flourish, become ready for their next step to Middle School, and enjoy a rich and progressive curriculum.

Our Orange Class pupils have grown the skills and knowledge to become our pupil school leaders. They are becoming active citizens of society and are becoming happy and curious life-long learners. They know that their individual progress is valued and are increasingly independent in their approach to learning.

Children learn to reflect on their own goals and develop a love of reading, writing and number. We make meaningful cross-curriculum links, follow the children’s interests and provide enhancement opportunities to engage each child and help them develop a love of learning.

In Orange Class we continue to grow and celebrate a language-rich curriculum, as our children's love of reading is further developed with planned exposure to a range of authors and reading genres with opportunities to value and celebrate reading across the curriculum.

We continue to work collaboratively with parents and carers to encourage independent, enthusiastic learners who thrive and reach their full potential. Community involvement is also an essential part of the curriculum. Throughout their time in the Orange Class, the children further grow a sense of belonging to our school, church and wider communities.

We work to support individual need, to ensure each pupil is supported to do their very best, working alongside parents and with outside agencies, where necessary, for all groups of students.

All pupils will take part in our nationally award winning 'Radio Club' before they leave Hindlip. This fantastic opportunity enables our pupils to develop a wide range of skills with an ex BBC news reporter and journalist. Pupils learn about audio production and investigate local issues affecting our school and its community. Please see the 'Radio Club' section of our website to listen to our Hindlip & Tibberton podcasts.
