Admission to School
School admissions are run by the Worcestershire Local Authority, parents should contact to local authority school admissions team for any queries regarding admission arrangements.
If you are interested in your child attending our First School you can contact Mrs Dorans in the school office, to enquire whether we currently have any pupil places and to make an appointment for a school tour. We recommend that you come and visit our school before making an application if at all possible, as this is a very important decision. This is of course not always possible.
We run an Open day in the Autum term which we would encourage you to attend. The day is normally held on a Wednesday in the middle of October. Please contact Mrs Dorans in the office who will add your name to the list of people who would like to be kept informed about this event. This tour is led by our fantastic KS2 pupils who give a real flavour of life at Hindlip CE First School.
Children entering the Foundation Stage…
In Worcestershire, children are allocated places in schools by the Local Authority. Parents are asked to state a preference and may appeal against the final decision if they wish.
Further information on Local Authority admission criteria is available from Worcestershire County Council Pupil Admissions Department by visiting: www.worcestershire.gov.uk/schooladmissions
This information contains full details on the application and allocation process, including the oversubscription admission criteria for each school. You are advised to read this information prior to making an application.

Parents of children starting in Foundation Stage will be invited to an initial evening meeting at Tibberton, when we explain how to prepare your child for school and the induction procedures. Children are given the opportunity to attend a number of sessions in school prior to the staggered intake in September.
Attendance during the first week of term is on a part-time basis for Reception children. For our families who will struggle to facilitate a part time start we are able to offer full time attendance, however, a part time start in week one does greatly support their initial transition to school. These arrangements will be explained more fully at the preliminary meeting. We prepare the children for entry to school with "taster sessions" prior to the summer holidays and give them some friendly faces pictures to remind them over the summer of who we all are.
